Almond Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  2. 3 cups of sugar
  3. 2 tsp Almond flavoring
  4. 6 eggs
  5. 1 can evaporated milk (add water to make 1 cup of liquid)
  6. medium package of slivered almonds
  7. 1/2 cup of shortening
  8. 2 sticks of butter or margarine
  9. 1/4 tsp salt

Directions and notes:

Mix all of the ingredients well in a large mixing bowl. Grease and flour the baking pan and place in a cold oven. Set the temperature atg 320 degrees and bake for 1 1/2 hour. Remove from the oven and let cool.
